Parking

For easy access to 1001 Optical, park in the Goulburn Street Car Park entry or the Pitt Street Car Park entry.

Public Transport

World Square is just a short walk away from Town Hall, Museum and Central railway stations. Buses also regularly run along Pitt and Elizabeth Streets. Altrnatively, Sydney Light Rail incorporates two lines, the Dulwich Hill Line and the new CBD and South East Light Rail. Alight from the Dulwich Hill Line at Capitol Square, and walk along George St. to World Square. The CBD and South East Light Rail runs from Circular Quay along George Street to Central Station and on to Moore Park and Randwick, via Surry Hills. Alight at the Chinatown stop on George St, and access World Square via the Goulburn St. entry.

How much does an eye test cost?

Medicare covers the cost of most consultations. Some additional fees may apply for services that are not yet covered by medicare. For those who do not hold a medicare card, a standard consult fee of $70 will apply. For more information, our store team will be happy to assist you at (02) 9267 4311.
 
Does 1001 Optical World Square (Sydney City) provide eye tests for children?
Yes, we do! All our optometrists have expertise and experience in providing eye tests for children, to ensure any vision problems and potential learning difficulties are corrected at an early stage.
 
What is the best way to get to 1001 Optical World Square (Sydney CBD)?
If you are wishing to drive to our eyecare practice at World Square in Sydney then it is best to park in the Goulburn Street and Pitt Street car park.
 
Aternatively, due to being located in the heart of Sydney city, we are conveniently near several public transport routes. World Square shopping centre is located just a short walk away from Wynyard, Town Hall & Central train stations. There are also a number of buses running along Pitt Street and also Elizabeth Street. In addition there are two light rail options at your dispense, which are both just a short walk away from our store. For the Dulwich Hill line, alight at the Capital Square stop and for the CBD light rail service, it is best to alight at the Chinatown stop.

When applying for a drivers license you are legally required to declare any illness, diability or condition that may affect your performance while driving.

If you have concern regarding your eyesight when it comes to driving or you have been issued a medical assessment form for eye sight, our friendly team at 1001 Optical World Square can provide the neccessary assessment and either sign off on the form, or implement the neccessary correction, whether that be prescription glasses, prescription sunglasses or contact lenses.

Glaucoma Screening
